A MUM who lost a leg to cancer was horrified to learn online hoaxers had taken a photo of her after her op and doctored it to appear like Angelina Jolie.
The day following her game-changing operation, 25-year-old Chantelle Cox smiled for a picture in a hospital wheelchair and posted it online to reassure her friends and family that everything was OK.
But when it subsequently appeared on her social media page as a part of a bogus news article stating the Hollywood actress was now an amputee after an automobile accident, she was taken aback.

The bizarre post, which went viral worldwide, described it as “extremely sad news” and included a photoshop of Jolie’s head over Chantelle’s torso.
Dundee resident Chantelle was horrified and exclaimed, “You couldn’t make this up.”
“I wasn’t at all impressed by the photo; as soon as I saw it, I knew it was myself.
“I was more perplexed and worried that this may occur.
“I was curious as to who created this and why my photo was utilized.”
We described how the social sciences student’s health troubles initially manifested as a newborn when a tumor formed on her ankle.
Later on, it was determined that she had neurofibromatosis, a condition in which tumors develop next to nerves.
Four malignant tumors that were too large to be treated were discovered in her calf and ankle in January, resulting in her amputation of her leg.
She posed for the photo in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary hours after the photo shoot because she was feeling “so good” about being alive and pain-free.
However, scammers saw it, changed it, and started posting the fictitious article with the heading, “Hollywood reports terribly terrible news about Angelina Jolie,” on social media.
Chantelle revealed that the nurses in the backdrop of the phony shot were still visible when she posed.
Even though she knew who she was right away, she believes that others could first be misled.
Chantelle, who now sees the hilarious side of the unusual act, added: “To be honest, their editing abilities are phenomenal.
“I’ve been offering to take pictures and sign autographs for my pals.
The joke is that I’ve become a movie star, finally realizing my goal.
“But it’s all so strange.”
On the day of her surgery, Chantelle, who resides with her partner Jack George, 25, and son Harry George, 2, sobbed.
But ever since, she’s been committed to returning to her routine and playing with her kid.
She has made jokes about how, after a lifetime of foot swelling issues, she can now finally afford to spend a little money on fitting footwear.
The mom was supplied with a prosthetic limb on the NHS in February and began Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in May.
