Tommy Shelby has returned!
Nearly two years after the conclusion of the British period criminal drama series “Peaky Blinders,” Netflix has announced that a film adaptation is in the works.
Further to this announcement, Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy will return to portray the gangster.

On Tuesday afternoon, the streamer disclosed the information in a post on X, which was previously known as Twitter.
“It appears that Tommy Shelby was not yet finished with me…”I am extremely pleased to be reuniting with Steven Knight and Tom Harper to work on the film adaptation of Peaky Blinders. The post featured a photo of the script, which is a statement from Murphy, and read, “This is one for the supporters.”
Tom Harper, who has directed numerous episodes of the program, is expected to serve as the director of the forthcoming film.
“When I first directed ‘Peaky Blinders‘ over a decade ago, we were uncertain about the series’ future, but we were certain that the alchemy of the cast and the writing was combustible,” Harper stated in an interview with Deadline. “‘Peaky’ has always been a story about family, so it is immensely thrilling to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to present the movie to audiences worldwide on Netflix.”

From 2013 to 2022, the BBC series was broadcast for six seasons.
