The American-Canadian Critics Choice Association unveiled the Red Carpet on Sunday night to celebrate the top performers and productions in Hollywood for the previous year, compiling the opinions of cinema and television enthusiasts after the Golden Globes last week.
The event was place in Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles, and actress-comedian Chelsea Handler hosted it for the second year in a row.
The highly successful summer films Barbie and Oppenheimer, together with the comedy-drama Succession on HBO and the limited series Beef on Netflix that was inspired by road rage, all proceeded to receive several awards.

Barbie topped the field with 18 nominations—the most any film has gotten in the history of the Critics Choice Awards—including Best Picture, Best Actress for Margot Robbie, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling, and Best Director for Greta Gerwig.
Both Yorgos Lanthimos’ black comedy Poor Things, which is also nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress for Emma Stone, and Christopher Nolan’s biopic about the father of the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer, were nominated in 13 categories, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy.
Regarding the small screen, the Apple TV drama The Morning Show, which was influenced by the #MeToo movement, has been nominated for six awards, two of which are for Best Actress in a Drama Series, which would go to actors Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The highly acclaimed television series Succession, which centres on the power struggles of the ultra-wealthy, received five nominations overall, with Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong receiving two nods each for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Four nominations were received for the highly regarded Hulu series The Bear, which stars actor Jeremy Allen White as a chef attempting to turn around a Chicago sandwich business.
