The National Weather Service reports that a storm that is expected to strike metro Denver on Monday morning will bring wind and precipitation, making travel conditions hazardous.
According to weather service predictions, there could be up to 4 inches of snowfall south of Interstate 70 with wind gusts of up to 55 mph. Residents are advised to "avoid or delay travel until this afternoon if possible." Due to snow churning caused by high winds, road conditions are predicted to be particularly challenging this morning in the southern metro area, the Palmer Divide region between Denver and Colorado Springs, and the southern Front Range foothills. It is predicted that most of the snow will fall before midday.
