The incident took place at the Sheetz petrol station at 3200 Sandy Ridge Road on Saturday, December 30, shortly after 4 p.m.
In a fresh briefing late on Saturday, Greensboro Police Chief John Thompson stated that the sergeant who was not on duty had "witnessed a crime occur" and had made an attempt "to approach the suspects." They claim that's when the shooting happened.
