Johnson’s monologue featured cameos by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, the evening’s musical guest.
Dakota Johnson admitted that she just cannot take “interviews seriously” while marketing her movie during her Saturday Night Live monologue.
After performing several press interviews for the film, the actress—who co-stars with Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor in the next Marvel picture Madame Web—realized, “I’m just not good at talking to media.”
“I believe the main issue is that I say things and then they record them, and it’s really unfair because I’m usually making jokes,” she remarked.
Johnson countered that even in her younger years, she had been like way for a very long time. She then played a clip of herself and her father, actor Don Johnson, from when they were kids walking the red carpet in the 1990s. She is seen rolling her eyes in the video.

Johnson laughs and rolls her eyes when the camera returns to her on the SNL stage.
Johnson said of her MCU film, “It’s kind of like if AI generated your boyfriend’s perfect movie,” which opens in theatres on February 14.
Johnson was hosting Saturday Night Live for the second time. In 2015, she had hosted a season 40 episode. One moment, when she turned to face the show again, a picture of Johnson in the crowd with Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg came up on the screen.
As the actress proceeded to joke about Trump, the camera focused on Taylor Swift, who was seated in front of her in the picture, and she said, “It’s really strange standing so close to someone that would become the most powerful person in America.”

The singer-actor took it as a hint to enter the stage when the Fifty Shades of Grey actress called out Justin Timberlake as the evening’s musical guest later in her talk.
“If you want me to be in skits — I have hosted previously,” Timberlake added, lifting his hand to indicate that he has hosted Saturday Night Live five times, while Johnson stood there looking confused.

Johnson answered, “Yeah, well, it was ten years ago.” Either way, I’m thrilled that you choose to make a return with my programme.
However, the singer expressed uncertainty about the actress from The Social Network referring to it as a “comeback,” asking, “Is that what we’re calling it?” Johnson answered right away, saying, “I mean, return in a nice manner.”
Timberlake remarked, “I realise what this is, this is where we make a joke.” “It seems like he’s returning after first bringing sexy back.”
Indeed, you are the one who is hearing it out loud right now, Johnson said, adding that she “wouldn’t put it like way.”
During Johnson’s speech, Jimmy Fallon also made a cameo appearance—dressed as Barry Gibb. Fallon and Timberlake, who portrayed Gibb’s younger brother Robin, revived The Barry Gibb Talk Show for an SNL skit later in the show.
Following her debut in Studio 8H in 2015, Johnson was presenting Saturday Night Live for the second time. On Saturday’s show, Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban, two celebrities from Shark Tank, also made an appearance.
