Hollywood actor Carl Weathers dies at the age of 76 – known for his part in ‘Rocky’ | Cause of death revealed

On Thursday, February 1, Carl Weathers, who played Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky movies and had appearances in several more movies and TV programs, including Predator, The Mandalorian, Happy Gilmore, Action Jackson,Arrested Development, and many more, died away. He was seventy-six.

Carl Weathers passed away quietly in his sleep on Thursday, February 1, according to a statement sent by his family on Friday, as reported by Deadline. Carl was a remarkable individual who led a remarkable life. He has made an enduring impact on movies, television, the arts, and sports, and he is well-known both internationally and among different generations. He was a cherished friend, partner, father, grandpa, and brother.

Weathers began his adventure as a football player at San Diego State University, where he also explored theatre acting. He was born in New Orleans on January 14, 1948. The rest is history after that. Weathers had a stellar 50-year acting career, appearing in more than 75 TV series and films.

Having previously been in the 1987 movie “Predator” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Weathers most recently appeared in the “Star Wars” spin-off series “The Mandalorian,” for which he received an Emmy nomination. In addition, he was well-known for his parts in the Toy Story series, Little Nicky, Eight Crazy Nights, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

But his portrayal of the jingoistic heavyweight champion Apollo Creed is still his most famous performance.  Rocky, the 1976 movie, and its several sequels offered a detailed and compelling insight at the world of professional boxing championships. The roles of Apollo Creed were returned to by Weathers in Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), and Rocky IV (1985).

Arnold Schwarzenegger, star of “Predator,” called him a “legend.” An amazing athlete, a wonderful performer, and a wonderful person. Without him, Predator would not have been possible. And we most definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed ourselves as much while creating it. On set and off, every minute spent with him was utterly delightful. He was the kind of buddy that makes you want to give it your all in order to stay up with him. His family is in my thoughts and prayers, and I will miss him.

Former governor of Minnesota and fellow “Predator” actor Jesse Ventura declared that “an icon” had been lost by the globe.

We lost an icon. Carl Weathers was a phenomenal talent, a true professional, and a dear friend. All my sympathies and love to his family. I loved working with him on Predator and then celebrating that film with him at various conventions in the ensuing years.

In addition to calling him a “wonderful dude,” Adam Sandler—who costarred with him in the comedy flick “Happy Gilmore”—posted pictures of the two together on social media. Great actor. fantastic athlete. Always a blast to be around. Astute as anything. utterly devoted. As hilarious as ever. cherished his boys beyond anything else. What a kind person! He was adored by everybody. Every time my wife and I saw him, we had the nicest moments. Warm regards to Carl’s whole family, and he will always be remembered as a real legend.
