About 6:40 p.m., near Coronado, the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter went into the ocean for training; no casualties were reported.
CORONADO — Federal officials have reported that a U.S. Navy helicopter crashed into San Diego Bay off the coast of Coronado on Thursday evening.
Around 6:40 p.m., the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron’s MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter entered the ocean for a training exercise, according to Navy Cmdr. Beth Teach.
All six crew members were removed from the ocean and brought ashore with the aid of Federal Fire Department San Diego and a safety boat that was on the scene. According to Teach, the crew members were receiving medical attention after surviving.

According to Teach, the helicopter was based at Naval Air Station North Island.
According to Coast Guard Petty Officer Adam Stanton, the US Coast Guard dispatched another helicopter to assist at the incident.
The reason of the collision is being looked into.
