One would assume that the Tom Hardy character and his adversary alien symbiote have improved their coordination by now, but a humorous early scene in the official trailer demonstrates that they still have room for improvement. The lightheartedness is quickly replaced by Brock/Venom biting the skulls off of four men—classic Venom.

In “Venom: The Last Dance,” the protagonists are evading capture, and their pursuers on Earth are not the only ones gaining ground. “‘Til Death Do They Part” is the film’s tagline, which does not exactly imply a cheerful denouement.

Stephen Graham, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, and Alanna Ubach also appear in “Venom 3,” alongside Hardy. Kelly Marcel directs the film, which is based on a screenplay she penned and on which she and Hardy collaborated on the story. They both contribute to the production of “Venom: The Last Dance,” which also includes Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker. Joe Caracciolo Jr. holds the position of executive producer.

In October, “Venom: The Last Dance” will be released in theaters (including IMAX and other PLFs). Although not yet rated, the first two installments were both PG-13.

Global box office receipts for the inaugural Venom film surpassed $850 million in 2018. The second, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” was released in 2021, grossing just over $500 million. Despite the fact that the (first) sequel received the more favorable reviews of the two films, 2021 was an odd year for movie theaters as they attempted to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Even today, it is not entirely certain whether we have emerged from those predicaments.

Although he is portrayed as a villain in the Spider-Man comics, Venom is somewhat more complex in the “Venom” films. Desire further complication? Venom existed in the “Spider-Man” universe created by Sam Raimi, but Topher Grace inhabited him in place of Tobey Maguire’s web-slinger. The post-credits scene of “Venom 2” subsequently eliminated Hardy’s Venom from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe. If there was to be a Spider-Man in “Venom 3” (although he is not depicted in the trailer), it would have to be either Andrew Garfield’s iteration or an entirely new Spidey, by process of elimination.
